Dear Mr Eggen,
I noticed that you were very excited to share with your Facebook friends and followers your experience at the Pride parade last week. It appears that you feel that this is an important cause to support. Since you have a lovely wife, I am assuming that you are probably heterosexual. Apparently, you just really want to throw your support behind this movement which has historically been on the margins of society. I personally don't feel the same way, but I can understand where you are coming from. As I have said before, you are clearly a man of principles, and you act on those.
Now, what if there was a parade that celebrated the goodness and love between a man and a woman? This seems to be the one type of relationship that the pride parade is not interested in. would you be interested in going to such an event and posting more than 20 photos of yourself attending said event? I am guessing the answer is "no". I am guessing this because you wouldn't appear to be a champion of a persecuted minority. You would only appear to be someone supporting the status quo.
Maybe, just maybe, this status quo (natural marriage) is actually really good and healthy for kids. Maybe having a Dad and a Mom who both help form the child's psyche is a richness we should not undervalue.
