Dear Mr Eggen, I am so embarrassed. I was wondering if you could send me a link to an article that covered the trial that led to Bill 24. Now, I know there was nothing on social media about a trial, nor did any of the main news outlets cover it...but it would be simply ridiculous for you to write Bill 24 in the way you did unless Alberta parents were actually convicted of incompetence. You see I am really embarrassed because I would have been invited to such a trial; at least notified of its existence, and yet I lost the invitation! Inspiration from the Catholic Bishops of Alberta

Attention: Mr David Eggen, 228 Legislature Building 10800 - 97 Ave Edmonton, AB T5K 2B6 Dear Mr Eggen, I am not sure if you had a chance to read the letter (November 5, 2017) from the 7 Catholic Bishops of Alberta and the Northwest Territories. The letter is not directed specifically to you, but to Catholics in general. It does, however, directly relate to your career and goals. Allow me to quote from this well-written document; it will crystallize the mission of this letter writing campaign that has begun. "We do not, and we shall not apologize to anyone for our faith, or for our schools. Everyone knows that the existence of our schools, fully permeated with our faith, is a constitutional right. Everyone should also know that this is a right we shall vigorously defend." I have been musing on the concept of what it means to "vigorously defend" a right.

Some thoughts about dignity...and harpoons

Dear Mr. Eggen, You might think that I am intolerant for thinking certain sexual things are wrong. Ok. How about if I explain a few points? It is not about identity. Anyone's identity is a human person with dignity and worthy of respect. Period. That's not what's up for grabs and you are not allowed to think, for even one second, that I hate anyone based on sexual orientation. We both care about our fellow humans, a lot, and you need to listen and understand me so you can hear the truth. What IS up for grabs is a discussion on if I am allowed to believe and teach that certain lifestyle choices and behaviors are wrong. Yes, I want to discourage certain ACTIONS and CHOICES. I actually believe that judging action is a good thing; judging people is not. You may not realize it but I think you operate this way as well. You probably think my behavior is bad and you will teach your kids not to become like me (that bigoted mom). You are allowed to do th
